Progress Educational Services International (PESI) was founded in 2009 with the goal to create vibrant job opportunities for unemployed youth in Sub-Saharan African countries through education and training. Youth unemployment and urban poverty are important intervention points in changing the lives of marginalized youth in Africa. Millions of young people do not get an opportunity to earn a high school education or to improve their skills sufficiently to be competitive in the job market PESI develops and implements training programs for unemployed youth in urban agriculture to empower a new workforce to sustainably develop their own communities. We seek to bring self-sustained economic and social benefits not only for unemployed youth but also for the collective good of their communities. In future, we plan to expand our programs to include careers in healthcare, forestry and environmental management.
