We are Progressive Innovation & Automation, Inc. Founded in 2001 to serve the needs of diverse set of Market Leaders looking for support for their automation projects as well as innovative ideas to improve production. Incorporated in Illinois in 2001, Progressive Innovation & Automation (PIA) was started as a Control Systems, Equipment, and Complex Automation Consulting Firm, with the vision to support challenges in everyday manufacturing. Our Partner's capital projects involving new machinery were becoming more complex, manufacturing mixes became more diversified, the days of batching production to minimize setups were gone. A new era of Just-in-Time manufacturing had begun. To address these needs, PIA developed the concept of "Object Oriented Manufacturing" and has been deliberately adding manufacturing objects to the Automated Production Equipment Inventory ever since. Progressive Innovation & Automation Inc. (PIA) developed Manufacturing Intelligence and Execution Platform - SHOPGRID® and began transition to product and Software as a Service company.
