Promateris is a leading European manufacturer of sustainable packaging and materials for the circular economy, and a leader in compostable packaging in Central and Eastern Europe. From our industrial site in Buftea, near Bucharest, we design and produce packaging from renewable, bio-based and compostable materials, formulate our own biocompounds and recycle bioplastics back into production. Our products comply with EN 13432 and are supplied to retailers, HoReCa operators, distributors and waste management companies across Europe. Our business is built on three divisions: • Bio-based & Compostable Packaging: carrier and produce bags, waste collection bags, films including mulching film, gloves and customized solutions • Bio Compounding: biocompounds developed and produced in-house • Bioplastic Recycling: reintegrating bioplastic material into the production cycle Our expertise is rooted in a manufacturing heritage dating back to 1957, combined with continuous investment in R&D and renewable energy. Our rooftop solar installation cut CO2 emissions by more than 500 tonnes in its first nine months.
