Problem Library is a small cultural institution in San Francisco’s Inner Sunset that operates as a gallery, library, and sanctuary for creative work and conversation. We provide space and resources to develop an understanding of art, design, music, and literature. The cultural institution we are building supports human work. Existing between academic institutions, traditional galleries and the commercial world, we invest and advocate for exceptional creative work regardless of commercial appeal. Our approach to programming and curatorial work is set in a foundation of creative integrity; encouraging intellectual and conceptual practices that demand research and experimentation as a way to advance work exploring the unknown. Continuing to provide space, resources and programming in San Francisco asks our community to consider their part in supporting what exists in their neighborhood and city.
