PMI: PRO Medical Innovations is a pioneering start-up venture set to deliver a unique medical innovation to the world market. The company was founded in 2008 to see the Safeceps™ project developed, commercialised and introduced to the obstetric market. The Safeceps™ project and its product range portfolio are set to deliver medical competence and obstetric certainty in an industry fearful of risk, litigation and the unknown. PMI’s goal is to revolutionise the field of obstetric healthcare through providing instruments of care. PMI was formed in 2008 as a spin-out venture of UWIC (University of Wales Institute Cardiff), with strong associations with Keel University and University Hospital of North Staffordshire. The venture originated as an undergraduate design project, which sought to deliver product solutions to known problems within the NHS. Out of this project a collaborative team was formed who then became the founding partners of PMI. PMI is now a leading task force in delivering the Safeceps™ product innovation to the world market. Over the past 18 months, PMI and the PMI team have been awarded numerous prizes, press mentions and commercial interests. PMI’s current aim it to find strategic partners, distribution channels and global retailers to see this product commercially realised.
