Birth Arts International was originally founded in 2000 by Demetria Clark as the Green Mountain Doula Guild. Since then the organization has expanded and grown into Birth Arts International. We have gone from a regional body to one that is working on a international level, offering extensive doula, postpartum doula and advanced doula trainings.

As a member of The Senior’s Choice, the nation’s largest network of independent private duty companies, our mission is to have your family member fall in love with the future. We are passionate about our home care services and offer a personal touch that enriches the lives of those for whom we care.
Our focus is to keep you or your loved ones at home, where their hearts are, and avoid loss of friends and possessions, loss of independence and freedom, and loss of spirit which is drained by the battles of daily living. Our caring service makes it possible for the elderly to maintain as much independence as possible, by providing the appropriate in-home assistance and companionship. We pride ourselves on matching highly qualified, compassionate caregivers to fit the personality, interests, and sense of humor of your loved ones. In that way, we lift the spirits not only of seniors, but of the family caregiver, as well.
IDI offers a go-at-your-own-pace approach to the most thorough training program to increase your earning potential immediately after completion of training. We are the only doula certification program to utilize experts in complementary fields throughout the curriculum so that you are getting the most experienced training available. Pediatricians and neonatologists who work with newborns every day, OBGYNs, RN's and midwives who work with expecting and postpartum women every day. Social workers and psychotherapists who work with expecting and postpartum moms every day. By gaining the input of these professionals, we really get a whole family, multidisciplinary approach to becoming a doula. The International Doula Institute(IDI) curriculum has been designed based on the progressive model of Authentic Assessment. Programs that rely on traditional methods of examination alone promote memorization of facts rather than retained applicable skill. The program has been created by a team of curriculum developers from many different complimentary fields of expertise including education, OBGYN, Pediatrics, Psychology, Social Work, RN's and most importantly doulas in the field, to provide the highest level of education for the future of the doula profession, YOU. Our program boasts multiple learn methods, so that all types of learners will be successful in this training program. We focus on giving the student tools that will enable you to jump into your new career fully prepared in all aspects of the job, both by expanding your knowledge base and by learning practical application of hands on skills.
