Prism Optics is redefining global access to vision care. Our flagship device, Prismatic, brings the clinical accuracy of subjective refraction into a portable, self-administered tool—empowering individuals and providers to deliver accurate vision assessments anywhere, without reliance on traditional infrastructure. The need is urgent. The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) reports that 1.1 billion people live with vision loss due to lack of access to eye care, and 670 million people suffer from uncorrected refractive error—the leading cause of vision impairment globally. Children without glasses learn at roughly half the pace of their peers, and the resulting productivity loss totals hundreds of billions of dollars annually. Prismatic was conceived at the University of Pennsylvania and developed through collaboration with leading clinicians and public health experts. Our team has consulted with specialists at Penn Medicine and the Scheie Eye Institute, including the Director of Glaucoma Services, as well as the Medical Officer of the District of Philadelphia. We have also engaged mobile-vision programs such as the Eagles Mobile Eye Clinic and New Eyes for the Needy (NJ) to ensure real-world usability across community and low-resource environments. Built with precision optics and intuitive user-guidance, Prismatic is engineered for clinical accuracy while remaining affordable, portable, and simple to operate. We are actively validating performance and patient usability in partnership with Penn Medicine. Our mission: make clear sight universal. Vision shouldn’t depend on geography, income, or access to clinical infrastructure. If you’re a healthcare organization, NGO, mobile-clinic partner, philanthropic leader, or investor committed to expanding equitable eye care, we’d love to connect.
