Primacare: A Story Shaped by Listening Primacare began with a simple passion: to make high-quality, innovative furniture. For our first seven years, we focused on building Prima Furniture Limited, with no idea that our journey would eventually lead us into the world of specialist care chairs. Between 2004 and 2007, that journey took an unexpected turn. We stepped away from traditional furniture, said goodbye to our original customer base and rebuilt the business around something new: bespoke furniture designed specifically for the care sector. That was when Prima Furniture evolved into Primacare. From the beginning, we were struck by the warmth, knowledge and commitment of the people working in the care industry. They knew what their customers needed, but many had never found a manufacturer willing to really listen, respond and do things differently. By working closely with our retail partners, we have expanded our portfolio to meet the wide range of needs of the end user, helping more people find furniture that truly suited their individual needs. That spirit of flexibility soon became part of who we are: “The Answer is Yes — now what was the question?” In 2024, we opened another exciting chapter by transferring Primacare into an Employee Ownership Trust. Our employees now have a real stake in the future of the business, bringing fresh energy, pride and a shared sense of purpose. We remain a flexible, independent UK manufacturer, ready to thrive in a market increasingly shaped by larger groups—without losing the personal approach, willingness to listen and commitment to care that have guided us from the start.
