iDEAlab represents a creative co-working space for fostering and development of entrepreneurial and innovative students’ ideas in the very heart of the University of Novi Sad. Equipped with the latest technology (hardware and software) iDEAlab provides students and young researchers from any faculty inside the University with training, mentoring and networking support in order to give them the opportunity to express their creative potential by launching a completely new business (start-up) or to work on innovating existing products and services (open innovation) in cooperation with companies interested in new ideas. The core idea behind iDEAlab is to systematically stimulate, provoke and channel creativity and pro-activity of students and young researchers to actively use their intellectual and creative potentials to generate innovative ideas and strengthen their entrepreneurial skills. Through cooperation with companies iDEAlab encourages the concept of open innovation by creating meaningful connections between the University and the Industry and fostering overall entrepreneurial climate. iDEAlab at the University of Novi Sad serves as: • A platform for generating, developing and commercializing innovative ideas through entrepreneurial pathway (start-ups) or in collaboration with companies (open innovation) • A unique environment of experiential learning for students at large • A unique value proposition for working with industry and institutional partners • A means for re-engaging with the community.
