Hlavním úkolem společnosti PREnetcom je plnit dlouhodobé strategické cíle PREdi, tzn. navrhnout a vybudovat komunikační propojení jednotlivých prvků distribuční sítě, které zajistí bezpečný přenos údajů o síti, a umožnit jejich dálkové ovládání v rámci implementace konceptu chytrých sítí (tzv. smart grids).
