The world is seeing a rising allergy epidemic. This increasing prevalence in the Western world is closely linked to our hygienic lifestyle. A reduced exposure to bacteria during infancy delays activation of immunological defense mechanisms that protect from allergies. Dogs have followed in our footsteps over thousands of years, and many of the factors associated with increased allergy in humans is highly significant also for dogs. The discovery is based on fifteen years of detailed cohort studies where Premune has identified that infants exposed to a certain bacterial protein in the gut during the first weeks of life are protected from future allergy development. In animal trials the proteins ability to activate immunological tolerance has been confirmed. This product will be given as oral drops to the puppy during the first few weeks of life, in order to activate the immune system's natural defense against allergies.
