Precision Labelling Systems Limited (PLS) was formed in 1974, and was originally based in Thirsk. The next few years saw a phenomenal growth as PLS equipment was being installed throughout the country. New technology not only enabled us to keep abreast with the industry, but in many instances a 'first' has been introduced. The most successful being the PLS Registration Labeller, designed specifically for the Paint and Allied Industries. Early in 1981 as a continuation of out expansion programme, PLS moved to a purpose-built factory on the Leeming Bar Industrial Estate. At this time it was decided to separate operations and form a new company solely for the label printing, Precision Labelling Systems (Print) Ltd., which also moved into a new factory at Todmorden, Lancashire.
