Precision Excavating Information

Precision Excavating, Inc. was founded in April 1988 by David S. Zehner and his father, David J. Zehner. After graduating from Colorado State University with a degree in agricultural business, David S. Zehner returned home to create his future. Recognizing difficulties associated with continued agricultural development within his family's ranching activities, he founded Precision Excavating, Inc. The company started with only a handful of machines and completed only small projects. Now, over 25 years later, the company has grown to over eighty pieces of Caterpillar heavy machinery, two aggregate mining operations, and operates out of a large, state-of-the-art shop and office facility. Our services have expanded to most facets of commercial and public heavy civil construction, including: mass earth-moving, road and bridge building, specialized aggregate material production, concrete structure excavation and pouring, reclamation, and utility installation. Precision serves areas of Colorado and Wyoming. Precision is still, proudly, a family-owned and operated business. David S. Zehner, the sole owner since 2006, continues to work in the trenches as both owner and operator. He works alongside his wife and two sons, making Precision Excavating a third-generation family business. Precision has enjoyed serving our local community for over 28 years and looks forward to many more.
