In the bad old days, browser creators were a bit cavalier about HTML coding standards and the result was a proliferation of incompatible DOM's which lead to a rather chaotic situation. Different versions of the same website needed to be served according to the client's platform type, browser type and even its version. Even so, it was not unusual for users to complain about certain websites 'breaking' when browsed with particular combinations of browser and platform. Happily, things have now settled down thanks to the efforts of standardisation bodies such as the W3C. As a developer who has ridden out the storm, so to speak, you can be assured that all my websites are 100% web standards compatible and may be browsed without difficulty in all the current versions of the most popular browsers including Firefox, Netscape and Opera as well as the all too common (and still somewhat non-compliant) Internet Explorer. Please note that the moving imagery and transparency effects on my website are achieved using nothing but CSS and Javascript (no Flash or Shockwave here!).
