PowerGen Developers Pty Ltd is a Brisbane based, Australian company established in 2006, focused on the development of niche energy projects. In its early stages of operation, PowerGen provided hands on development services on exclusive basis to energy development companies in successfully developing large scale energy projects. In the recent years, PowerGen has taken the initiative to act as a principal developer in identifying and developing innovative energy projects which involve "value add" to Australian energy resources. It has been involved in origination, development and management of niche energy projects in the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM) and Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) and for the resources sector across Australia. It has a diversified project development pipeline which addresses emerging issues in the NEM, such as the development of large scale energy storage, strategically located peaking plants and medium scale renewable generation projects. In the resource sector, PowerGen has been developing unique "value add" projects for energy export to energy deficient markets like India-such as Polygen using stranded coal including tailings, non-recovery coke and power projects, energy supply projects for the Direct Reduction Iron (DRI) process in steel mills. PowerGen works closely with its well established partners. These include coal producers, technology providers and financiers to successfully develop energy supply projects. Its team has a successful track record of developing resource and energy projects over the last 15 years. PowerGen is currently progressing a number of project developments in India, Australia and Indonesia.
