We are a full gospel, uncompromising, faith based, spirit filled church that ministers to the needs of our community through discipleship. Power of God Christian Center (POGCC) was founded in 1986 by Pastors Sal and Helen Ortiz and their son Desi R. Ortiz. Imagine the site of a Black 1978 GrandPrix towing a trailer up Highway 101 from Baldwin Park, CA to the little known town of Santa Maria, CA - that's how it all began. The Ortiz family left 5 adult children behind and stepped into their calling - to establish a place of worship where the Power of God would manifest. In 1987 we established a Women's Shelter, "Power of God Women's Training Center". We opened our doors to women and their children in need of God's love. Today, our family has grown to many members from all walks of life. It has been an honor to watch God pour his blessings onto so many, through the work of this ministry. The lives of countless people have been impacted for Christ, turned their hearts' toward God and have become his disciples.
