The Portuguese Federation of Field Hockey,founded in Lisbon on June 9, 1948, now known Portuguese Hockey Federation and using the symbol FPH is a person collectively take the form of non-profit association. The Federation has as main objectives: a) promote, regulate and direct the practice of hockey and its variants throughout the national territory; b) Representing before the administration, the interests of its members; c) Representing the national hockey and its variants, with the international counterparts; d) To organize and promote national teams, ensuring their presence in various international competitions and the necessary technical support to sports and sports agents involved in them; e) organize any national or international sporting competition for the promotion and development of the sport; f) Promote the development and technical progress of the sport, particularly in the variables of training of practitioners, technicians and other sports agents, the discovery of talents and constitution of the national team; g) Establish and maintain relationships with all entities that develop the promotion and programming of the game in other areas, providing the playing of hockey to most citizens.
