Welcome to Alentejo Surf Camp.
We are a new surf project in southwest Portugal, based in the beautiful resort of Vila Nova Milfontes, which is located approximately 150 kms from the airports of both Faro and Lisbon, where the transfers are available.
We are in a very spacey new villa plenty of rooms for big groups! A large kitchen and lounge area, ideal for entertainment! Fantastic patios, terraces and BBQ grill area, great to relax after surfing!
The area is surrounded by 60 kms of stunning coastline and varied surfing conditions, the perfect location for experienced surfers or beginners who will be taught by our certified instructors in our waves!
The town of Vila Nova de Milfontes offers a pumping summer fun atmosphere with beach bars along the river, quality restaurants and nightclubs.
There are photos on the website showing the beauty of the area, the coolness of the town and the camp itself. So please take a look!!
The camp is also situated within the Costa Vicentina region of Alentejo known as the heart of Portugal’s Festival land! So there is easy access to these events which include the Musics of the World Festival in Sines (July) and the Sudoeste Music Festival in the month of August in Zambujeira do Mar, which currently has a line-up of top international bands.
"The truth is... surfing can and should be enjoyed at any level!"
So, here is a good choice for a nice holidays in Portugal.

At the prime location in Europe’s most consistent & flexible surf spot, it was the first surf camp established in Portugal back in 1993. By focusing on quality service & the environment it has grown to become one of the best known and best loved surf schools on the Atlantic. Teaching people how to surf in Peniche while making sure they have the best possible surfing holidays is our main goal and what we thrive on. Since 2008 we have received over 130 excellent costumer reviews on TripAdvisor resulting in 3 Certificates of Excellence in 2010, 2013 & 2014.
Ericeira is one of the best places to learn to surf. The variety of beaches allows beginner lessons in nearly all conditions. Our house is located on the South side of Ericeira and this is where you find sandy beaches that are perfect for beginners. And most of our guests are beginners, so you don't need to worry about being the only one. What activities can I do in Ericeira besides surfing? Although surfing is the main activity in Ericeira, there are also lots of other activities to do. It's possible to go horse riding on the beach, fishing on a boat or mountain biking in the hills. We can also organize stand up paddle (SUP) tours. At the house there is at least once a week a yoga class and you can also book massages to pamper yourself. For skate fanatics, there is a world-class skate park in town. And it's of course also possible to just chill at the beach or explore the town with its nice restaurants and bars. If you want to escape town for a while, then the bustling city of Lisbon is only 40 km away and easy to reach by bus. But also the world heritage village of Sintra and the Palace of Mafra are worth a visit. Why would I go to Ericeira instead of Peniche? Both Peniche and Ericeira have their strengths. Especially in winter and early spring or late autumn when big swells hit the Atlantic coast, Peniche offers more wind shelter with beaches facing different directions. On the other hand Ericeira has the advantage of being closer to the South coast of Lisbon, where you can find good surf when the Atlantic coast is blown out. Ericeira also offers more consistent reef breaks that can hold bigger swells properly. And because there are so many different breaks in Ericeira, crowds are spread and the atmosphere is nice. But Peniche and Ericeira are both very good places to surf! Peniche has bigger beaches, but the small beaches of Ericeira have more charm. Also the village itself is much nicer than Peniche. Peniche is more of an industrial village (with the smells) while Ericeira remains a traditional fishing ...
