Port Newark Container Terminal (PNCT) Information

Port Newark Container Terminal (PNCT) located in Newark, New Jersey is currently handling over 700,000 containers annually and is expanded its yard, rail and berth infrastructure to double throughput capacity. In 2011, PNCT secured a long-term extension of its lease with options running through 2050. As one of the largest infrastructure projects in New Jersey, PNCT will invest over $500 million into the expansion before the year 2030. The expansion creates significant economic growth within the Region, and will improve capacity as well as service levels to all of PNCT’s customers. PNCT offers 50’ deep berths capable of handling ultra large container ships, a sole use on dock rail terminal and a container yard equipped to handle over 3,000 truck transactions a day. PNCT is on track to be the premier container terminal in NY/NJ by 2020.
