Mikkeller is a beer company started by Mikkel Bjergsø in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 2006 he was a math and physics teacher who started experimenting with hops, malt and yeast back home in his kitchen. Today Mikkel Bjergsø exports his microbrewed beer to 50 different countries and is internationally acclaimed as one of the most innovative and cutting-edge brewers in the world. Mikkel has made collaboration beers with some of the world’s most acknowledged and innovative breweries, Stone and Alesmith. He also makes house beer for some of the best and most prominent restaurants in Denmark, such as Noma, Mielcke & Hurtigkarl and Kiin Kiin. In 2010 Mikkel opened Mikkeller Bar in the centre of Copenhagen with the ambition of creating a small, cool and elegant place for both beer lovers and novices. Mikkeller has since grown to a global business with bars, breweries and restaurants all over the world.
