Pomelo Network Pte Ltd previously known as Cubie Inc, is a Singapore incorporated company which has set up R&D team in Taiwan. Its main product has also been rebranded to Pal+ (Pal Plus) to emphasize the ease of making friends through the app. Currently it is developed and with other operational team in US, Japan and South East Asia. The developing team of Pomelo Network was established in 2012 and was the second Taiwanese team to raise fund from the US-based venture capital 500 Startups. In 2013, The investor also has secured $1.1M seed funding from B Dash Ventures, NTT Investment Partners, BIGLOBE Capital, Gumi Ventures, Pinehurst and Funp. In 2015, Pomelo Network Pte Ltd has secured $1.3 million series A funding from Thailand -listed game publisher Asiasoft Corporation, Taiwanese venture capital firm Expert Idea Limited and the company’s seed investor FunP. Currently, it is led by Thelma Lin, who joined the company in 2014 and started the rebranding and restructuring process. Lin has improved Pal+ to look more energetic and playful and actively promoted it in its Global market. Now Pal+ have nearly 12 million downloads worldwide, and featured by Google Play (Taiwan and Hong Kong) for the best making friend app in Dec. 2015.
