To showcase the remarkable properties of polyethylene, PolyGen are developing a wave energy converter (WEC) made almost entirely from HDPE. WaveFlex, a newly patented device, has been designed to optimise the flexibility and resilience of the material to reduce concentrated stresses, and hence produce an extremely cost effective converter.
