POLO is a platform that reflects the evolving role of our office’s design culture, with its main focus on creating a sustainable living environment for people and nature. With POLO as a platform, we stand for an integrated design approach in which our disciplines Urbanism, Architecture, Interior Design and Labs gain more of an individual identity. POLO as a platform aims to create (self-)awareness around socially relevant actions – from ‘building robust resilience’ to ‘nurturing nature’ and ‘centering humanity’, from ‘reinventing reuse’ to ‘designing porosity and generosity’. Interdisciplinarity and co-creation are key to the POLO platform. They set the tone for temporary partnerships and long-term alliances. We illustrate this with a mutation of the well-known POLO logo and a new website that makes the themes and ambitions that run through our work more visible. It showcases a selection of reflections, experiments and concrete realisations, but it is above all a dynamic and colourful portrait of imaginary insights that always arise from intensive dialogues between our talented designers and various actors in the field. With the establishment of POLO as a platform we open the door. Consider it an invitation to join the debate and help us conceive an inhabitable environment for everyone.
