Pôle Sud Strasbourg Information

Located in the southern suburbs of Strasbourg, France, Pôle Sud has been a space dedicated to dance and music since the 1990's. Its program combines high artistic standards, risk taking, and support for both artists and the public. Its founding elements are creation, distribution, artist residences, a resource center, cultural mediation, studios, and workshops. Authorized as a center for music and dance for over 10 years, the organization will take a new turn in 2014 by becoming a Centre de Développement Chorégraphique (Center for Choreographic Development), a national label, whose projects will expand to a larger area and in resonance with the CDC network spread throughout France. The dance project now becomes the sole object of Pôle Sud's work, which, thanks to loyal and diverse partnerships, can shine a spotlight on the work of many artists, including both emerging and experienced choreographers and performers.
