Point 2 Point Engineering (P2P) is where technology meets simplicity. Modern physical assets generate massive amounts of data from a wide variety of sources and platforms, but this data is typically not available in real-time and cannot be consolidated without significant data manipulation. In most cases, specialised engineering resources are required. The analysis process is expensive, time-consuming, and often unsuccessful in identifying a problem before failure occurs. Data relating to the operating environment has traditionally been more difficult to monitor. In some cases, such as dust exposure monitoring, periodic monitoring is conducted to estimate exposure levels, but this information is no guarantee that an operator is not exposed to an environment at risk to their long-term health. In other cases, such as operator whole body vibration, the information is not available at all.
