Plexxikon, a member of the Daiichi Sankyo Group, is a leader in the discovery and development of novel, small molecule pharmaceuticals. In 2005, Plexxikon scientists discovered ZELBORAF® (vemurafenib) tablets, formerly known as PLX4032, and initiated the first clinical trial in 2006. Together with its partner Roche, Plexxikon co-developed this mutation-specific medicine, in less than five years. A companion diagnostic used to determine ZELBORAF treatment eligibility was approved at the same time. ZELBORAF has been approved in over 40 countries worldwide.
