Pledgit Information

Pledgit was created for the fundraisers that want to give their money to charity, not just their time. While the norm is to ask friends, family and work colleagues for donations when running the marathon, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro or cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End, Pledgit offers a platform that allows the fundraiser to give money and, importantly, use that money to incentivise others to give more/give at all. For example, instead of saying "I am sailing across the Atlantic, please give to this great cause", a Pledgit fundraiser says "I am sailing across the Atlantic, and I will match your donations up to £xxx. Please give to this great cause!". Consequently, the charity receives more funds, the fundraiser will feel less reserved about approaching others for their donations, and you can feel great about not just giving your time, but also your money. The pledge that the fundraiser makes does not have to be significant.
