Play Therapy Australia was established in 2001 to foster the unique growth and emotional development of children, to help children and families and to provide Play Therapy training opportunities for professionals. Play Therapy Australia specializes in Play Therapy training and is Australia’s leading professional training organization in Child Centered Play Therapy, a humanistic form of counseling and psychotherapy for children from 2-10 years old. At the heart of Play Therapy Australia is a belief in the beauty and power of the therapeutic relationship to support children's innate capacity for growth, inner development and healing. Play Therapy Australia offers workshops and an internationally renowned Play Therapy Training Program, providing the opportunity to learn from Australian and international experts and leaders in the field of Child Centered Play Therapy. Mentoring and consultancy services are also offered to support the development of Play Therapists and Play Therapy services. Play Therapy Australia provides a training pathway to become Registered Play Therapists with the Australian Play Therapists Association (APTA), Australia’s peak professional Play Therapy association. Play Therapy Australia is an approved ongoing professional development training provider with the Australian Counseling Association (ACA). We are proud to be committed to high standards of training and ethical Play Therapy practice and to supporting the development of Play Therapy in Australia and internationally. We offer Play Therapy introductory workshops in Perth, Western Australia, Melbourne, Victoria and Singapore. The Child Centered Play Therapy Training Program is also offered in Perth in 4 intensive blocks of training and with some online training/distance learning components so that those living in different parts of Australia and other countries can participate.
