PLAT Studio Information

PLAT Studio is an award-winning landscape architecture and urban design practice based in Berkeley, California, working across California, North America, and Asia. Founded in 2014, our studio brings more than a decade of international practice to projects ranging from urban parks, public spaces, streetscapes, and mixed-use communities to commercial destinations, campuses, residential environments, and large-scale master plans. Our work is shaped by a multicultural team with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds. Having lived, studied, and practiced across different cities and landscapes, we bring a global perspective to design while remaining deeply attentive to the ecology, culture, climate, and everyday life of each place. We believe meaningful landscapes emerge from understanding context rather than applying a predetermined style. Our process brings together landscape architecture, urban design, ecological thinking, and technical expertise to transform complex site conditions into places that are resilient, memorable, and built to endure. PLAT’s work has been recognized by the American Society of Landscape Architects, the International Federation of Landscape Architects, World Landscape Architecture, and other international design organizations. From California to the Pacific Rim, we work closely with clients, architects, engineers, planners, and communities to carry ideas from early vision and master planning through detailed design and implementation. Bridging local ecology with global urbanism.
