PLAMA Information

Plataforma Moçambicana da Água (PLAMA) is a public private network organization of the Mozambican water sector which aims to improve the sector effectiveness and efficiency. PLAMA aims to improve the performance within the Mozambican water sector, as well as in relation to other sectors of the Mozambican economy and international players. PLAMA is a mechanism for improved dialogue and structured participation of the private sector in the development of the Mozambican water sector. Mozambique’s water challenges need integrated solutions, which need different type of players from different sub-sectors. Therefor PLAMA brings together private companies, governmental organizations, knowledge institutes and NGO’s active in the broad water sector. From water supply to civil engineering, from sanitation to irrigation and from Integrated Water Resources Management to flood control. Objectives The objectives of PLAMA are the following: Provide business and policy support services to its members/associates; Promote cooperation within the Mozambican water sector, involving the public sector, nongovernmental organizations, knowledge institutes and the private sector; Promote feedback and information exchange between planners and implementing parties in the water sector; Provide national and international parties with information on the Mozambican water sector and on Mozambican parties; Act as front office for external enquiries (from other sectors and other countries).
