Super Simple began in a small classroom in the suburbs of Tokyo, Japan. As teachers, we noticed that most recordings of even the most basic childrens songs were sometimes too difficult for us to use as a teaching tool. Yet, we knew that music was one of the most powerful teaching tools available to us! We saw that when songs were too fast, too lyrically complex, or too difficult to follow through gesture and dance, many young learners would simply tune out. So, in 2005 we began creating our own songsoriginals and classics made simple for young learners. We focused on creating songs that were appropriately paced, lyrically simple, full of space for movement, easily taught through gesture, and FUN! The songs were such a big hit in our classrooms in Tokyo, that soon other teachers around the country were asking for the songs. Soon after that, we made our first CD, Super Simple Songs, and found that it was something that people from all over the world were looking for. In 2006, we began making videos that showed teachers how to use our songs in the classroom and posted them to a little website called YouTube. Much to our surprise, kids were also watching these videos. So we decided to make more videos just for them. Our early videos were made with a laptop in the classroom (usually after class). But as YouTube grew, so did we, and those homemade videos became larger productions and with that we developed a passion for creating quality content for children. Fast forward to the present day, and our YouTube channels are home to some of the most well-known, and loved childrens content on the internet. Weve expanded to Spanish and Japanese language content, series content, live action, and even live streaming. But our goal today is no different than it was over a decade ago: to make learning and teaching simple and fun!
