Pilli is an Istanbul based web-shop. It started as a web design shop in 2000 and changed course to become a web company in 2005. Pilli's first project was Pillinetwork, a network of eleven community blogs, which shared it's revenue with contributing users, who have written close to 330.000 articles. In it's heyday Pillinetwork blogs reached 4 million unique visitors a month. The arts & crafts arm of Pillinetwork, 10marifet.org proved very popular among women and created a spinoff company: 10marifet A.Ş., which is reaching 1 million unique women. Next was Sosyomat, a social networking site with an emphasis on tagging people. Many many babies have been born because of it. There were close to 200.000 registered users, and the site was reaching 1 million unique visitors. Pilli's next product was put.io, an online storage service combined with a bittorrent client, working on the cloud. This proves to be a combo worth exploring further.
