Pihinga is an employment match making service that enables empowerment of parents who need top up income and services. Pihinga was created out of the idea that when we talk about child poverty rather than whanau poverty we are doing a dis-service to our tamariki. Here at Pihinga we are all about working with big companies and finding work uniquely suited to solo parents, and matching that work with a parent that may need the assistance. By bringing more income into the whanau we can alleviate some of those burdens that are experienced. However, as a social enterprise it doesn't end there. The biggest need expressed by the parents we talk to is the need for a caring community. We re-invest back into the parents that use our services by supporting them through additional education, community events, and other associated needs.
