Founded in the Algarve, Portugal, in 1997, Necton is one of Europe’s oldest and largest producers of microalgae. With over two decades of expertise, we have built deep scientific, technological, and business knowledge across multiple sectors, including aquaculture, cosmetics, food, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and bioenergy. In 2023, the strategic acquisition of Allmicroalgae significantly expanded our production capacity, allowing us to integrate diverse cultivation technologies, including open raceway ponds, closed tubular photobioreactors, and industrial fermenters for heterotrophic cultivation. This enables us to cultivate freshwater, marine, and hypersaline microalgae from a wide range of genera.
