Personal, a pioneer in empowering people with their data and developing a more ethical and transparent business model for data-driven services, merged in August 2017 with digi.me. Founded in 2009, Personal's Data Vault, Personal Cloud and Fill It apps were among the first apps to provide tools to help consumers organize, protect and securely share structured, reusable data. Personal's user-centric, privacy by design data platform was recognized as the first consumer platform to be built with those principles, and its Owner Data Agreement was similarly recognized for its innovative reverse licensing agreement to allow users to retain legal ownership of data they shared with other registered users and partners. Personal also incubated TeamData, a collaborative information security and information management solution for companies, employees and teams of any kind (teamdata.com).
