Since its founding on April 3, 1996, Gunadarma University has become a powerhouse in Indonesia’s higher education landscape, renowned for its expertise in technology, communication, and a commitment to outstanding university governance.
Gunadarma’s legacy dates back to August 7, 1981, with the establishment of the Computer Science Education Program (PPIK) in Jakarta. Rapid growth led to its transformation into the School of Informatics and Computer Management (STMIK Gunadarma), followed by the formation of the School of Economics (STIE Gunadarma) in 1990. These institutions merged in 1996, creating Gunadarma University under the decree of the Director General of Higher Education (DIKTI).
With a progressive vision, Gunadarma expanded into new academic areas by launching the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Faculty of Literature, and Faculty of Psychology. Gunadarma has been at the forefront of advanced research and professional development, offering Master's and Doctoral Programs in Economics and Information Technology, approved by the Ministry of Education of Indonesia.
Gunadarma’s commitment to educational excellence is recognized by its prestigious "Unggul" (Excellent) accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), positioning it as one of the leading private universities in the country.
With a strong foundation in technology and innovation, Gunadarma University continues to shape future leaders, drive research, and contribute to the growth of Indonesia's knowledge economy.
