PEORIA COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION Information

The Peoria County Bar Association was founded in 1879 and now numbers over six hundred and fifty members. It is the largest regional bar association in downstate Illinois. A Board of Directors governs the Association and its work is performed by its committees The Association, through its members, conducts a number of continuing legal education programs, which are considered the best bargain in CLE anywhere. In addition to a number of social activities, the Association, through its various committees, operates a lawyer referral service, assists in the local legal services corporation in the delivery of pro bono legal services to the poor, works with the judiciary in the drafting and implementation of court rules and procedures, oversees the county law library, participates in fund raising activities for local charities, provides lecturers for local schools, and assists in the resolution of lawyer-client disputes.
