Pennotec aims to provide advice and technology that helps business owners and operators to convert manufacturing by products into marketable resources. Waste biomass accumulates as a result of many different types of manufacturing activity; agriculture, food and beverage production, chemicals and pharmaceuticals and fuels and bio-fuels. Waste biomass is a problem with a cost but also a potential value. It makes good economic sense to try to prevent or reduce waste. But if waste reduction is not an option and, as fuel costs rise, the economics of transporting waste long distances for recycle or re-use becomes ever more prohibitive, innovations in fermentation and extraction technology that valorise waste at the point of its production may be the solution.
