Penn Jazz is the premiere jazz big band at the University of Pennsylvania. Entirely student-run and led with the assistance of musical director Dean Schweiger, Penn Jazz has proudly served the Philadelphia and Penn area for over 40 years. In addition to our bi-annual concerts, Penn Jazz has performed with various jazz legends such as Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner, the Count Basie Orchestra, Wynton Marsalis, and Christian McBride.
