We strive to produce as much at our own facility in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA as we possibly can. Our reason, we want to offer unique, top quality and special products to our clients. While we purchase certain parts for our tubs from elsewhere in the World, all of our tubs are hand finished in the USA. In most cases, the majority of the production that goes into one of our tubs is performed in the USA. It is imperative to us that each cast iron tub inner shell and each vintage tub faucet we supply meets or exceeds the requirements of the relevant ANSI and ASME specifications. All of our sub-suppliers are approved manufacturers who, like us, carry cUPC approvals from IAPMO Testing Laboratories. This assists us in maintaining quality control over a longer term. All of our bathtubs have at least four to five layers of powdered enamel applied to meet our minimum stipulated thickness. After the cast iron body of the tub is manufactured and cleaned, it is brought back to red-hot glowing metal. This tub is then placed into an enameling area where a high grade pure white enamel powder is sprinkled onto the inside surface of the tub. After allowing a little time to cure, this process is repeated a further three or four times to meet our thickness and coverage specifications. By the very nature of the application, hand applied powder enameling never leaves a totally flat surface, this is why all cast iron bathtub enamel surfaces can look and be, a little wavy. For our claw feet, we always use traditional using heavy cast iron. We design the feet to compliment the tubs we offer. On our French bateau skirted tubs, we produce copper, carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum outer shells. All of our skirted freestanding tubs can have the skirts removed on site to allow for easier access into a required room or area, or for difficult lifts up sets of stairs. However, we always ship fully assembled unless otherwise instructed. Our claw foot tubs are shipped with the feet separate, it is a fairly simple task to install these in the home.
