Penglais School Information

Ysgol Penglais School is a happy, ambitious and high-achieving school which always expects the best from our students. We have high expectations of ourselves and each other, both as students and staff, and we continually drive to achieve our very best. Teaching and learning is the main focus of the school and we are fortunate to have experienced staff with a very high level of subject knowledge and a great understanding of students’ learning. This inspires students to learn, to develop their skills and to achieve their best. The outcomes of our students at A Levels and the pathways many choose to take exemplifies the excellent experiences they have had in the school. We are a very comprehensive school, serving Aberystwyth and many areas within and beyond Ceredigion. This produces a great energy within the school which provides our students with a varied range of opportunities. Our pastoral care and inclusion within the school is excellent and helps support all of our students to achieve well. We also offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities which enables our students to experience success in many aspects of their lives, socially as well as academically. We aim to develop well-rounded and happy individuals who are well qualified to become successful members of the community. Ysgol Penglais School is a school that is at the very heart of the community and we aim to work closely with all ventures within Aberystwyth community. Collaboration brings many opportunities and we seek out occasions when we can work with local community members to support our students as well as the community.
