PEMRED Information

PEMRED, a technological and scientific based provider of exhaust after-treatment solutions, developed the PEMRED-PAI. It offers a new approach towards emission-control by manipulating the particle size distribution emitted from exhaust systems – greatly reducing the amount of ultrafine particle while only slightly increasing the amount of the larger ones. PEMRED provides the PEMRED-PAI - a tailor-made design of the exhaust geometry (specific to an engine model) in the form of a wavy exhaust pipe 50cm-100cm long, essentially maintenance-free and inexpensive to manufacture. By agglomerating nano-particles, this disruptive technology reduces the quantity and the surface area of exhaust soot particles, lowering the health hazard and facilitating particle filtering. That is particularly attractive to developing economies, which have to curb emissions of large fleets of older vehicles which will continue to be in operation for years to come. Whether as a retrofitting solution or original mount, the PEMRED technology is applicable to all combustion engine types (diesel as well as gasoline direct injection), at all sizes – from cars to large power stations.
