In the heart of Central Oregon, Deschutes County, within the tri cities of Bend, Redmond and Sisters, the Cloverdale Rural Fire Protection District covers approximately 50 square miles of rural farm, ranch and housing developements, with approximately 1500 single family dwellings.

May 1, 2021 - Members of Volunteer Fire Departments across the nation consistently sacrifice their time and energy for their communities. Often overlooked, is the sacrifice that their families also make. These family members are often left alone in restaurants, at the grocery store, and in the middle of the night. Today the CVFD held its annual Family Day event to honor and thank those families that we leave at a moments notice. Without their support, we could not be successful in our mission. On March 15-16, 2021, the Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department hosted a LP Gas & Live Burn Training for area departments. This training was provided by the Mississippi State Fire Academy. The CVFD was joined by Bolivar County Volunteer Fire Department, Ruleville Volunteer Fire Department, Sardis Fire and Rescue Department, and Mound Bayou Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters completed a classroom session on March 15th on the tactics and dynamics of LP fires. The Live Burn portion of the class was held March 16th. Firefighters practiced extinguishing controlled LP fires in front of a lively Cleveland crowd. 65 total Firefighters were able to take part in the training. Special thanks to the MS State Fire Academy for their expert instruction, Quality Steel in Cleveland MS for the donation of the propane tank prop to the Fire Academy, and C.P. House Gas Company in Cleveland MS for the propane.
