Pelamis Wave Power Information

Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Pelamis Wave Power is the world’s most advanced wave energy technology company. Since 1998 the company has achieved a series of world firsts and technical milestones, including generating the world’s first offshore wave energy into the national grid, and securing the UK’s first commercial orders for wave energy converters from utility customers. The Pelamis wave energy converter absorbs the energy of ocean waves and converts it into clean, green electricity. Two Pelamis machines are currently being demonstrated in Orkney at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC), with numerous commercial scale projects under development in Scottish waters.
