PeerTree Tools offered an ML-based automated investor-facing platform for peer-to-peer (p2p) lending investors. They should have bought us :) Before robo-advising, we developed this cloud-hosted product and licensed it to accredited investors, enabling programmatic p2p security investing. We built this before any p2p automated investment service was offered through Lending Club, Prosper, or others. Value created for customers: - Machine learning models (random forest, etc.) predicted security performance attributes, such as default probability and prepayment - Applied portfolio optimization theory - Removed cumbersome hands-on personal review, selection, and purchase of each loan - Minimized transaction latency, enabling our customers to invest in highest quality securities before allocations filled - We made people more money with substantially less (read: near zero) effort
