At Peakhurst Early Learning Centre we provide opportunities for children to explore their sense of agency and encourage them to take the lead in their learning experiences. Connections and communications between children, their peers and educators are of upmost importance at Peakhurst Early Learning Centre. Peakhurst Early Learning Centre strongly believes in children exploring the world through a holistic creative way with messy play, adventure and imagination at the forefront. We take action on children's curiosity and individual personalities through intentional teaching and a respect towards learning through play. We consider each child's level of development to be unique and build upon their interests, needs and strengths through open ended learning experiences with a belief that children have the right to extend their knowledge. We believe children should take an active role within our local community and understand its importance. At Peakhurst Early Learning Centre there is a strong emphasis for children to explore and respect their community. Our community environment is incorporated within our program, playing a complimentary and important role in children's learning as we are committed to providing a sustainable environment for future generations. We wish to inspire children to develop their understanding of the integral role that our local community plays in their education in the present and for the future; by children being an involved community member they are assisting the community to become stronger and enriched as a whole. A community relies on its community members, and we take a local approach to giving back and addressing community needs as we network with local establishments.
