Many decades of combined experience in the electrical and electricity supply industries has given the Peak Power Services team a proven track record throughout New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands. Focused on the Queenstown Lakes region, the company in its current form came about following the legislative changes to the electricity industry in 1998 and changes to the Central Otago network. Director Murray Popenhagen saw an opportunity to establish a private contracting company based out of Queenstown specialising in customer focused design and installation of reticulation systems. All Peak Power Services management team have experience at the "front-end" of the electricity industry whether as electricians or engineers. With specialties unique to the Queenstown region (such as extensive ski area experience), Peak Power Services is also an industry leader in high voltage networks, subdivision reticulation, transformer installation and refurbishment, and the design and construction of electricity networks. The company also manages and maintains the growing Electricity Southland network in the Queenstown area and acts as an agent of PowerNet for customer enquiries, network connections and metering. Peak Power Services also holds the exclusive agency status for Ferranti Tapchangers Ltd and Associated Tapchangers Limited (ATL), a division of Brush Transformers.
