PC Alberta Information

The Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta was originally founded as the Conservative Party of Alberta. Since 1905, the organization has been committed to being a Party for all Albertans; where member's thoughts, efforts and support of the principles of progressive conservativism are welcome and valued. The first six Progressive Conservative MLAs were elected to the Alberta Legislature in 1967. In 1971, under the Leadership of the Honourable Peter Lougheed those six MLAs grew to a team of 49 as Alberta elected their first Progressive Conservative Government. Since 1971 Progressive Conservatives have formed government under the Leadership of the Honourable Don Getty, the Honourable Ralph Klein, the Honourable Ed Stelmach, and most recently the Honourable Alison Redford, elected as Premier in 2011. We are a Party that takes pride in both our conservative and progressive roots. We are volunteer driven and dedicated to continuing to evolve, adapt and listen to Albertans about what matters most to them.
