A Maine based non-profit with the unwavering belief that all students, regardless of income or background, deserve a quality education and career success. Intelligence, talent, motivation, nobility, and grit are distributed across the entire economic spectrum of Maine’s youth. Maine has an undiscovered population of talented low-income youth. Some of our brightest young minds are well-suited to opportunities, but unconnected for simple lack of information, mentorship, and other surmountable barriers. At Pathways to Potential, we envision a time where Maine’s leadership encompasses thoughtful and broad-minded decision-makers drawn from every economic segment of society. Programming: Education Consulting: One on one college consulting to make college possible for low-income and first-generation Maine students by matching students with donors, resources, colleges, and professional networks. Focused on three critical areas: navigating the college admissions process, paying for school, and creating a support system in college. Summer Camp: Founded in 2012 a summer camp designed for girls entering 4th-8th grade as a place to develop self-confidence and a healthy lifestyle. Programming has reached more than 600 girls. Live Inspired: Visiting with Maine students and encouraging them to connect their passion with their aspirations, the power of hard work, facing adversity head-on, and living a life with courage. Programming has reached more than 70 schools and 22,000 students.
