Patagonia Montessori Elementary School Information

The Patagonia Montessori Elementary School (PMES) is a tuition free public charter school, contracted by the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools, serving grades K-6 . We also offer a private Montessori pre-school or Early Learning Center for 3 and 4 year olds. PMES adheres to Maria Montessori's vision of a farm-based community in which students, through participation in surrounding rural life, experience practical roles that integrate and engage academic studies, while building a greater connection to society and the world. The school works to reflect the words of Maria Montessori that "Education should therefore include the two forms of work, manual and intellectual, for the same person, and thus make it understood by practical experience that these two kinds complete each other and are equally essential to a civilized existence."
